Engage – Introduction to Limit Switch
KEYWORDS:
Limit Switch: A type of switch
Electricity is a type of energy that gives gadgets the power to work. It flows along wires. We all use electricity every day, whether it is turning on the lights in our rooms or playing our favorite video game.
Is a Switch a circuit breaker?
It is a closed path through which an electric current flows. A circuit is usually made by connecting the battery, bulb, and switch with wires. When you turn the switch ON, electricity flows through the circuit. If the switch is turned OFF, no electricity flows. This is why a switch is also called a Circuit Breaker.
Are there any other types of switches? Let’s Think!
Well, the answer is A Limit Switch!
When you open the fridge door, a light comes on inside. How does that happen?
Limit switches work automatically.
A limit switch is used to find if the fridge door is open or closed. That’s why the light inside a fridge switches on when the door is opened.
